Iris Chang and her book
|
Iris Chang was an Chinese-Aerican historian and writer. Chang was born in 1968, and sadly she passed away in 2004. Her most famous work is the novel about the massacre what happened in Nanking, China, during the World War II. The "Rape of Nanking: The Forgotten Holocaust of the World War II" is one of the most incredibly honest and heartbreakingly sad books about the dark weeks that happened in the capital of China in 1937 and 1938.
Of course the story is different for every one, it is different for the people of China, for the Japanese men, and also different for the European and American civilians, who were just watching the horrible actions of the Japanese Army. The book shows 3 different viewpoint, 3 different stories, the viewpoint of the Chinese civilians, the Japanese soldiers, and the European and American people. Chang does a very good job describing the events, and lets us to decide our opinion of the whole story. |
