Hakudo Nagatomi
It is always interesting to imagine yourself in the head of the killer and imagine why would somebody would do something that bad, and we also ask the question if somebody could change during the years, or who killed once is going to be the same monster for all of his life? The answer depends on the judging person, some of us thinks that they should get the same what they did, some thinks that fate and belief can change the person.
Hakudo Nagatomi was there during the massacre in Nanking, he was one of the Japanese soldiers who raped and killed more then 200,000 people. After the war he spent years and years of soul searching, he is a changed man now,he had a wonderful career as a doctor.
“I behead people, starved them to death, burned them, and burned them alive, over to hundred in all”, said Nagatomi.
One of his interviews he tells about an old story what happened with him when he visited China, a few years after the war ended. He was walking in the streets of China when once a woman started pointing to him and started crying, saying that he is the one who killed her family. This little scene changed his life. “There are really no worlds to explain what I was doing. I was truly a devil”, he said.
Today he is a gentle, fateful man, most of his patients could newer imagine his horrible past, when he was a routes murderer.
